Nominations are now open for the 2024 Premier’s NSW Export Awards celebrating businesses that are thriving in international markets and showcasing the best of NSW innovation, ingenuity, and quality on the global stage.

Investment NSW Deputy Secretary Katie Knight said NSW exports of goods and services continue to trend upwards, contributing $150 billion to the state’s economy, with trade supporting one in five Australian jobs.

“Businesses which export are a major driver of economic growth, and these awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success of these businesses in strengthening NSW’s position as Australia’s most globally connected economy,” Ms Knight said.

“NSW has leading businesses exporting across a diverse range of sectors and I encourage them to apply and be recognised for the valuable contribution they make to the state’s economy.”

Dianne Tipping, Chair of the Export Council of Australia, said the 2024 Awards will acknowledge outstanding businesses across 13 national categories and five NSW categories.

“NSW exporters are trailblazers in innovation, expanding their reach to new and dynamic markets—from food and beverages to clean technology.

“These prestigious awards serve as a platform to celebrate global success and motivate others to embrace international growth.”

Leading global food business SunRice Group, which has significant manufacturing operations in NSW’s Riverina region, was recognised at last year’s awards in the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages category. CEO Paul Serra said SunRice supplies its products in over 50 countries and is continuing to pursue growth opportunities in international markets.

“SunRice is a great Australian success story – from a single rice mill built in the Riverina over 70 years ago, we now have operations in ten countries and supply our diverse and nutritious food products globally,” Mr Serra said.

“The NSW Premier’s Export Awards are a fantastic opportunity for businesses to be recognised for the work they’re doing on the world stage. We were delighted to be recognised at last year’s awards in a strong field of NSW exporters. There’s plenty of NSW businesses out there working across numerous industries that are demonstrating the value of exporting, and these awards are a great platform for their stories to be heard.”

Nominations for the Premier’s NSW Export Awards close on Friday 14 June 2024. Finalists are expected to be announced in September leading up to the awards ceremony on Friday 11 October 2024. The theme for the 2024 NSW Export Awards program will be a celebration of NSW’s dynamic export partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The NSW winners of the 13 national categories will automatically progress as finalists to the Australian Export Awards.
